About this deal

Either way I wanted to give it a read before seeing the movie and when it became available on my PRH audio app I dove in! The name "Elly Conway" - In one of the photos from her Eras Tour rehearsals, Taylor can be seen wearing a 'Conway Recording Studios' sweatshirt. There IS a lot of Taylor Swift coded clues or "Easter eggs" which are hard to ignore, I would be more inclined to believe that Taylor Swift may be cast as the last character introduced in the book (will leave the name out so you can all see for yourselves the link).

One consultant on the film claimed someone named Tamar Cohen wrote the book, a name Cohen has published under, in addition to the pseudonym Rachel Rhys. And why a female narrator when the majority of the characters are men, including the two lead characters? Vaughn later confirmed that the second film will be based on the first novel, [26] with the plot exploring the origins of Argylle becoming a spy; while the third movie will follow additional installments of the book series. And I say that because I imagine Taylor Swift has a load of people trying to jump on her bandwagon left, right, and center, and I don’t want to be a part of that club. It takes quite a bit for a narrator to drag a story down for me, but in this case the audiobook was my hinderance.

Pseudonyms are not uncommon, but this one has unspooled more red strings than most, long before the Argylle book (published on January 9, 2024) or the movie (set to release on February 2, the first of several Vaughn has planned).

Readers seeking a globetrotting tale of espionage, adventure, and suspense starring a charming but reluctant hero would do well to take a close look at “Argylle,” Elly Conway’s debut novel being released as a film next month. As for Argylle the story, any author who can weave together a plot involving Nazis, the Amber Room, the Golden Triangle, Fontainebleau palace, Paris, Mt. So, I did, in fact, read this book thinking it was the source material for the film with the cute trailer.

Henry Cavill appeared to know the identity but refused to reveal anything per Vaughn's wishes, while Bryan Cranston played coy about what he knew, claiming he couldn't rule out the rumor that Taylor Swift wrote it. Attendees of early screenings have confirmed that no revelation of Conway's identity occurs, indicating that the mystery will likely be maintained until the film's wide release. While Conway is supposed to be from upstate New York, Argylle is laced with Britishisms, and Cohen is British. A debut spy thriller getting touted as the next James Bond franchise that ALREADY has a major motion picture slated to release right after the book is published. It doesn’t end on too much of a cliffhanger but it’s definitely set up to leave another story to be told.Principal photography began that same month in London with cinematographer George Richmond, and took place across various locations in Europe. There are lots of well-developed characters who I felt connected with and a wonderful schadenfreude at the end. The Argyle pattern - Taylor's recent Red (Taylor's Version) era was chock full of the same aesthetic, particularly the 'All Too Well (10 Minute Version)' video. The names on the covers of the books were the names of fictional characters, but the publishers made it clear that the books themselves were ghostwritten by real people.
