About this deal

S. Forester, chronicling the adventures of fictional British naval officer Horatio Hornblower during the Napoleonic Wars, and was surprised to find there were no such novels following Lord Wellington's campaign on land. Derfel is smitten by Ceinwyn (sister of Cuneglas, King of Powys) who is in turn promised to Lancelot.

The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. The narrator is amazing and brings so much passion and awesome story telling i have been spell bound through out, the story it’s self is great and I can honestly say one of the best. But the treasures will also set Briton against Briton – especially as Guinevere, now Arthur’s wife, wants to make a magic of her own. Or must you confess that worldly pursuits, possessions, and corporate success consume your thoughts and energies? The Cauldron was the greatest Treasure of Britain, the magical gift of the old gods, and it had been lost for centuries.Sin sets us against God: “Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior” (Colossians 1:21). Lancelot's rebellion quickly loses momentum as word of Caer Cadarn's fall spreads and warriors from Dumnonia begin to rally to Arthur's side. The protagonist is an archer who participates in the Battle of Agincourt, another devastating defeat suffered by the French in the Hundred Years War. They defeat the Christians, but afterward Derfel decides to travel south separately from Arthur to find his mother, whom he has not seen since she was captured in a raid when he was very young. They also discover all of the missing Treasures of Britain, including the Cauldron, which had been hidden in Guinevere's temple to Isis.

He has established his capital at Isca, as close to Dumnonia as possible without leaving Siluria, and has the twin grandsons of Tanaburs, the druids Dinas and Lavaine, at his service. The main character, Derfel, achieves more status, fights in more battles, discovers his father is a Saxon leader and creates a rift with his childhood female friend, Merlin's apprentice. But what really thrilled me was what Lancelot did to try to claim the throne of Dumnonia away from Mordred. It is revealed that the carnal rituals have involved Guinevere sleeping with Dinas and Lavaine, as well as with Lancelot. The writing style is engaging and the story-telling is exceptional, with a magnetism that prevents you from setting the book down. And those times were when Briton was desperately fighting itself and trying to hold back the Saxon invasions. Narrated by Derfel, now a old monk and dying, then a warrior and servant of Arthur in these Dark Ages.
