About this deal

The daypack itself features two mesh water bottle pockets and an easy access zipper pocket on the outside. Voucher valid until February 2nd, 2024 and can be used several times on selected non-reduced and already reduced items.

The harness is also much sturdier than the other Farpoints, making it much nicer to wear for longer periods of time. This is in addition to the large mesh compartment on the back of the lid which is now smaller than the previous model due to the main bag shrinking in size. If we separate and set the daypack to one side for just a second and focus on the main pack, it’s evident that this isn’t your typical backpack.Normally I would fit 4 medium size packing cubes, toiletry bags, junk bags and stuff 2 to 3 pairs of shoes in, and then some. There are a few drawbacks and some ambiguities that come with the size and lack of organization, which I will mention in the cons section – but there’s no doubt that the Osprey Fairview 55 packs very well and weighs very little. There’s a couple of compression straps in the bottom of the pack to help with forcing all of your travel essentials in and a mesh pocket great for storing laundry or a light jacket. So we’ve taken the time to analyse the new Fairview 55 and find out what’s changed versus the previous model. The Farpoint 55 and Fairview 55 are essentially the same product; the only difference is that the Fairview is a women’s specific version.

You mention in a comment below that attaching the Daypack to the FP55 main pack is “a bit fiddly” and that instead you transport it by its handle. The extra 15 liters make it easier to pack for multiple climates for one trip, like packing for the tropical forests of Costa Rica and the cold mountains of the Andes. Slip your magazines, important documents or laptop into this bag, which can also hold your essentials for 48 hours. Our team are working extended hours to get through this as quickly as possible, we ask you to be patient during this busy time. However, in practice, the daypacks mesh pockets and rendered useless when the pack has just about anything in it so you may be best off carrying that water bottle than risking a spillage on the inside. It was only when I had to walk a little bit longer from hostel to hostel or walk from the bus to my accommodation for half an hour or more – my back started to suffer. That said, once you get used to it, this two-in-one pack can be a great companion for the adventure traveler. As a beginner/intermediate backpack, the Osprey Fairview 55 is the best of both worlds, containing both a great sized main compartment with the useful 13L daypack. The only issue I’ve experienced is that the hip belt is a little above my hip bone, though it’s not as obvious as with other brands I’ve tried. It used to be that the Farpoint 55 wasn’t carry-on compliant and it had some other points against it that made it a less attractive option, but now they are much more of a match.

The multifunctional and durable Fairview 55 is a great pack for anyone looking to fit adventure into their travels.Inside, there are dedicated storage compartments for valuables, including a scratch-free tech pocket, a laptop compartment, an ID card holder and a key clip.
