About this deal

Puma are well known for designing some of the best golf shoes in the game and we loved the visuals on these trainers. First things first the Adapt Foam, a combination of EVA cushioning and an impact resistant polymer, creates a firm feeling shoe whilst still being comfortable. If you have a particularly wide or narrow foot then you may find that this doesn't give you the easy locked-in feel that you want though, so I'd recommend trying them on first if you've not already got a pair of shoes like this. I tested the Alphacat Leather across multiple rounds out on course to get a really good idea as to whether there were any performance benefits versus the original shoe. An upgrade on the Puma Ignite Articulate the Ignite Elevate expands on what was one of the best golf shoes to be released in 2022.

The laces are unusually thick but the shoe feels really soft and snug, to the point where you might want to go up half a size, and you definitely don’t feel as high off the ground as the sole design suggests. The level of grip was sufficient, even when testing during an unforeseen rain shower (our feet stayed dry too), and there’s a good level of stability on offer. From a comfort perspective, the Alphacat Leather outperforms the original shoe and lots of other spikeless shoes on the market for that matter. Many players choose to have one pair for winter and another, lighter pair for summer to keep them fresh and suit different requirements. They are ideal for all-day use in the summer, for example on a golf holiday you could just stick them on in the morning and wear them all the way through the day without any issues. Since it doesn’t have an independent tongue for separation, I’m not exactly enamoured with how tough it can be to get this shoe on and off my feet but I appreciate how that can add to performance. In this review, I'll explain why it's still a very solid golf shoe and that it's just lacking in some added details.

This is so we can gain a better idea of overall performance in terms of factors like grip comfort, grip, stability, waterproofing and how they actually look on the golf course. The Alphacat strikes a poised look in the two other colorways too and the grey and black versions have similar, sharp contrasts. Our golf shoe testing methodology revolves around putting models to the test over a number of rounds and in different conditions. This is just yet another good looking shoe from Puma - it provides modern styling without being over the top or in your face.

The Alpha Traction sole design on this shoe is cleverly constructed with rubber grips that work together to provide grip in areas that suit you the most. My wife even commentated how smart looking the shoe is when I wore it the other day for our daily walk. Having tested them on wet and dry conditions, we've had no problems with slipping or balance here, which is a big deal considering they are a spikeless shoe.
