About this deal

While this unit lacks the USB digital I/O found on its big brothers in the MG series, I have found the MG06X provides a cleaner, more pleasant sounding ANALOG front-end to my other digital I/O gear. I've thought about upgrading to the MG10X, and I might if this little mixer ever breaks down, but that doesn't appear likely.

As the title says, I've been using this bad boy for three years now in my duo/solo acts and I have never been dissapointed. The XLR balanced outputs make it very convenient to plug into a house PA or directly to a set of powered speakers or studio monitors. Equipped with some of the same state-of-the-art functionality featured on Yamaha’s high-end consoles, the MG Series gives you the tools you need to produce high quality sound that is uniquely your own.I do wish it had RCA inputs, as she occasionally uses mp3 accompaniments, but I just used an adapter to plug into one of the stereo channels so it will do. The high EQ gave a nice clear and breathy high end to my voice and just a little turn of the low EQ brought out body in the sound. Sounds like 4 channels to me, but since I have owned other Yamaha mixers, I knew this before I bought it. Containing a two-band EQ for each mono channel and effects processors with an array of delay and reverb options, as well as some killer, specially designed MG01 op-amps, the MG06X is a fantastic option in terms of durability, flexibility, and affordability.

The EQ section is wide ranging and I was able to dial in a clear and warm tone on both my voice and my guitar. I have a few different mixing boards, depending on what job I am doing, and the MG06X is the smallest of the bunch. The MG-06X has +48v phantom power for condenser mics and XLR balanced outputs to ensure that no matter how big or small your operation is, the MG06X will act as the lynch-pin mixing desk that you can depend upon.To my surprise, this mixer is solid1ly built and has enough weight to stay in place when cords are plugged in. The Jensen is bright, so I had to roll off some high frequency and slight increase in low (mic mixer channel).

When was the last time you heard guitar without EQ or a completely unprocessed vocal on one of your favorite songs? Yamaha mixers are famous for their flat response and sonic purity, but it often takes more than a perfectly-captured instrumental performance or vocal to achieve a professional-sounding mix. This board is useful in situations where I need just a few microphones and/or want to run an iPad or CD player through my powered speakers. org reviews are not shared due to high security i cannot share those date because it may be slow due to some of the bad working of others. The Yamaha MG06X is Yamaha's most compact mixing desk of the new MG III range, an ideal choice for small duets or solo performers that don't need the bells and whistles of a 24 channel desk on stage. The MG Series features the same digital connectivity that is used to streamline the recording process on Yamaha’s professional-level mixing consoles. Two Class A D-PRE microphone preamps deliver high headroom, low impedance, and clear full-range sound.

Extra bonus features for channels 1 and 2 include high pass filters to help tame muddiness from unwanted low frequencies, and pad switches to tone down loud inputs. The MG Series has been redesigned with an emphasis on durability, incorporating practical features that offer greater flexibility while ensuring peak performance for many years to come. The Yamaha C40 is an amazing full-sized nylon-string guitar that's affordable enough for any guitarist. Super quiet and clean sound - provided you setup your gain structure for maximum signal input without the clip LEDs ever lighting up. The MG06X's all-metal chassis gives it a presence and ruggedness for life on the road, whilst remaining lightweight (under 1kg!I picked up this MG06X because I absolutely loved the rugged build quality of the MG10 and how good it sounds. The reverbs are very nice sounding and clean and even some of the crazier effects like the tremolo, flanger, and distortion are very usable. Unfortunately a few things disappeared from the previous entry-level MG-series mixers, including the effects loop, compression, the monitor outs, and the mids for the EQ. The channels are outfitted with Yamaha’s discrete Class-A D-PRE mic preamps with an inverted Darlington circuit and they sound really good. In my world it ends up being used for awards shows, picnics, school dances and karaoke parties -- it even makes for a nice headphone practice amp for my guitars and keyboards.
